3 days Lake Mburo Safari is an amazing 3 days /2 nights tour to Lake Mburo National Park, this safari offers you a great experience during game drives, bird watching and boat cruise on Lake Mburo.

Lake Mburo National Park is located in western Uganda. The park is located 238 kilometers off Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. The park covers 260 square kilometres (100 sq mi), the park is the smallest of Uganda’s Savannah national parks. Lake Mburo National Park was named after Lake Mburo found in this place. Its sculptured landscape, with rolling hills and idyllic lake shores has a varied mosaic of habitats; forest galleries, seasonal and permanent swamps, and rich acacia-woodland, and grassy valleys which all support a wealth of wildlife.

Being near the equator, the rainfall pattern is bimodal, with the long rains occurring from February to June, and the short rains from September to December. Lake Mburo park hosts a variety of animals. 68 mammal species, including a large number of Impalas, plains zebras, Uganda kobs, duikers, bushbucks, topis, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, Defassa waterbucks, warthogs, oribi. There are 315 bird species. The vegetation is mainly open savannah of acacia trees, olea and boscia. Lake Mburo National Park is a natural haven for fauna and flora. The bank teems with animals and birds. Crocodiles and hippopotamus are permanent residents, and buffaloes come to drink during the dry season. The wide variety of resident birds includes finfoots, malachite kingfishers, pied kingfishers, African fish eagles, Rüppell’s long-tailed starlings, blue-headed coucals, tambourine doves, hammerkops, pelicans, herons, cormorants, red-faced barbets, grey crowned cranes, papyrus yellow warblers and even rare shoebills.

The 3 days safari incorporat wildlife viewing and the recreational boat cruise on Lake Mburo to view  anumber of birds, hippos and many other animals that come to drink from the Lake.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe airport / Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 2: Do Morning game drive & Afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo 

Day 3: Game Drive & Transfer to Kampala.

3 Days Lake Mburo Safari in details 

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park.

After an early morning breakfast at your place of stay in Kampala, you will be picked up by your tour guide at 7:00am and embark on 240km or 3-4 hours’ drive to Lake Mburo National park, located in Western Uganda. We will make a stop at the Equator at Kayabwe (about 77km from Kampala) for photo shoots with one leg in the southern hemisphere and the other in the northern hemisphere. You can also perform water experiments to justify the geographical divide between the two hemispheres.

There are craft centers at the site where you can get yourself a souvenir as remembrance of your safari in Uganda. We continue on the drive to arrive in Lake Mburo National Park in the afternoon for lunch and refreshement. We shall have an evening guided walk through the park for a great bird experience. dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruie on Lake Mburo.

After breakfast, we head for a game drive through the tall grass savannah dotted with Acacia and Euphobia tree you are most likely to see Crested Francolin, Emerald-spotted Wood dove, Brown Parrot, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, Blue-naped Mouse bird, Lilac-breasted Roller, Green Wood-hoopoe, Common Scimitar bill, African Grey Hornbill, Spot-flanked Barbet, Nubian Woodpecker, Trilling Cisticola,Yellow-breasted Apalis and many animals;- giraffes, zebras, antelops. In the afternoon after lunch and refreshment, we head fro a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Here you expect to get close range viewing of Zebras, antelops, hippos, buffalos and many different bird species. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala / Entebbe Airport.

After breakfast, we head for another special game drive through the park. You will be able to see game like Olive Baboon, Vervet Monkeys, Yellow- winged Bat, Side striped jackal, Dwarf and Banded Mongooses, Common Zebra, Hippopotamus, Common Warthog, Buffalo, Bushbuck, Oribi, Deffassa Waterbuck and Bohor Reedbuck and many more mammals. After we return to Lodge for Lunch, checkout and drive back to Kampala/Entebbe Airport.
